Waterlogged.fyi is built to stay useful under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 by collecting almost nothing that identifies a person.

We do not collect

• Name, email, phone, or login.
• Precise public coordinates. Map points are jittered on read.
• Raw IP addresses. Abuse control stores a daily hash, not the address.
• EXIF from photos. The browser strips it before upload.

We do collect

• City, locality text, depth, status, optional note, optional photo, and a coarse location.
• A Turnstile token so bots cannot flood the archive.
• Anonymous traffic via Cloudflare Web Analytics when enabled. No advertising cookies.

Photos are optional and stored on Cloudflare R2. Do not upload faces, number plates, or documents. We may delete reports that do.
